How and when the switching between the locomotives happens will need more testing. In this example, the orange locomotive was build first and is also the one that appears on the compass. ![]() If unsure, you can check which is the leading locomotive with the compass. So to correct this, the locomotives need to be build in the correct order and the existing trains need to be deleted and build again including the wagons. So if the destination is just 100m behind it, the second locomotive will not activate. The first locomotive that is build will always start driving in its direction. It seems it is important which locomotive is build first before setting a route in a bi-directional train. While testing with a single station and a single bi-directional route, I have found a feature/bug that explains why sometimes trains refuse to drive in the assumed "right" direction. So I have been testing with an assumption that my signals are not a problem. The very least the developers could do, is to visualize the route the train will take, so you can check it, before letting it loose on a wild ride that might go nowhere. So in my opinion, the broken logistics is destroying the end-game and need to be a priority and be fixed. If not, please post the link to the exact specific algorithm they were programmed with. Now I can already see ppl writing "oh just make 2 one-way rails", but this isn't my point, trains are just random. Once the train refused to use the rear locomotive, once it took the longest path possible and once it simply refused to enter a station which was 100 meters away right in front of it which is just insanely frustrating. ![]() I tried all possible combinations and the train simply doesn't obey the configured route and seems to just do random things. The route goes through bi-directional line with checkpoints and intersections where trains can pass each other. For the last 4 days I did not manage to make a route through 4 stations. And yes, I checked the signals and the intersections, they all seem fine. They simple don't work in predictable manner. I once took me an half of hour to record a one minute long path. ![]() Recording of paths can be a major annoyance since you keep getting stuck. The trucks work fine, but sooner or later they start getting stuck in invisible things that appear randomly. Unfortunately this is where things start to stink to the point that some things seem to not be predictable and not work.įirst there are the trucks. Which means the logistics are more complex, so I need to increase the number of trucks and trains and make complex rail network. I am trying to do a relative realistic scenario where I have multiple smaller factories. I arrived at endgame some time ago, and am mostly optimizing and slowly expanding the factories. I have played this game for 450+ hours and I like it. ![]()
